The Louisiana Hayride was a live radio show that ran from 1948 to 1960. It was broadcast from the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana to a studio audience of over 3000 and also sent out live over KWKH Radio. The audiences enjoyed the performances of the great country music artists of the day as well as many new, young artists wanting to break into the business. Some of the 'new' singers who got their start on the Hayride include Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and 19 year old Elvis Presley! The Louisiana Hayride became known as 'The Cradle of the Stars'! Other artists who appeared on the Hayride include Bob Wills, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline, Marty Robbins, Lefty Frizzell, George Jones and many, many more!
